Chiado | Bairro Alto
The neighbourhood around the Chiado Square is elegant, full of stores and historical points. After the 1988 fire, everything was reconstructed respecting its original architecture. Here is where you find the Garret street, where Fernando Pessoa drank his afternoon tea. Perfect for a walk or a late lunch!
This historical zone is at the top of one of Lisbon's seven hills. It is the place where you will see the narrow cobblestone streets and yellow trams that make this city famous. At night, it welcomes a different lifestyle and it is an excellent option to go for a drink, a dinner or just to hear the Fado (Portugal's "blues").
